Jokami Ware Uranium Ware
Sencha Tea Set (Teacups, Teapot, Waste Water Bowl)
This is a work by Jokami Ware's second-generation artist, Saburo Nakamori (Fuin).
When uranium ore was discovered at Doll Pass on the border of Tottori and Okayama prefectures, Fuin mixed it into the clay or glaze, creating what is known nationwide as the rare Uranium Ware.
This piece combines old traditions with new techniques.
The current third-generation artist took over in 1990, and his style differs from his predecessor. Therefore, the second-generation artist's work (Uranium Ware) is considered valuable.
This is a new, unused item and is in excellent, clean condition.
The wooden box has scratches and stains. The Jokami Ware pamphlet is torn in places, making some text unreadable. Please be aware of this.
Although unused, this item has been stored for a long time. Those who are concerned about minor details should refrain from purchasing.
