This is a single slab table made from a Japanese horse chestnut (Tochi) tree.
It is an impressive single slab measuring 96cm in length, 67cm in depth, and 3.8cm in thickness. The beautiful quilted maple and burl patterns, characteristic of Japanese horse chestnut, are clearly visible. It is rare to find a piece of this size and quality available today.
We commissioned a urushi lacquer craftsman to apply 10 coats of genuine urushi lacquer to both the top and bottom surfaces.
The finish has a very beautiful sheen.
The legs were custom-made by a blacksmith for ￥10,000, perfectly matching the table.
As it is natural wood, there are some minor warps and small cracks.
