AKOMEYA TOKYO/ Soba Choko - Green Glaze Flow
This item is new and unused, but the seal has been removed and it has been pre-washed.
Comes as a set of 2, including the saucer.
This soba choko (small cup for soba dipping sauce) is made by Chojuro Kiln, located in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture, famous for its ceramics.
Chojuro Kiln excels in both porcelain and pottery, and prefers simple glazes or straightforward hand-painted designs over excessive decoration.
This soba choko is simple yet possesses a rustic warmth, and can be used for various purposes beyond soba, such as drinking sake or coffee. Soba choko have served a role similar to today's free cups since the Edo period, and this design is timeless, unobtrusive, and fits well into both Japanese and Western lifestyles.
The small condiment dish from the same series can be stacked on top of the soba choko, allowing for a cohesive table setting when used together for enjoying soba, somen, and other dishes.
