Kefir grains are living organisms, so they do not have a conventional expiration date. The amount of moisture contained within and the components absorbed from milk can change depending on the temperature, time, and environment during transport. While they weigh around 5-8g including milk at the time of shipping,
during transit, the grains absorb and consume the sugar and moisture from the milk,
so they may weigh less upon arrival than at the time of shipping.
This is the same mechanism as when a person's weight decreases due to lack of food or water, or when vegetables and plants become lighter as they lose moisture and nutrients.
The weight may be less than the shipping weight.
Please rest assured. After arrival, if you provide fresh milk,
the grains will reabsorb moisture and sugar, and their weight will return.
From there, they will continue to multiply depending on your cultivation environment.

and their growth rate can vary significantly during cultivation, so
please be responsible for the success of your cultivation and the health of the grains.
