Vintage [Etsuko Bekko Store] Genuine Tortoiseshell Chrysanthemum Obi Clasp

☆ This is a ruffled chrysanthemum obi clasp with intricate craftsmanship from Esaki Bekko. It is quite old and likely a rare item that is difficult to obtain now.
☆ Esaki Bekko was a long-established store located in Nagasaki City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
Unfortunately, it closed its doors on June 30, 2020, after 311 years of history, and its store, which was a registered tangible cultural property of Japan, was also dismantled.
Founded in Hoei 6 (1709), it was considered the oldest tortoiseshell specialty store in Japan, boasting over 300 years of history.
It was honored with the title of Purveyor to the Imperial Household Agency (the current Imperial Household Agency) from the Meiji and Taisho eras, and a gold label indicating this can be seen on the case in the image.
☆ Although used, it is still in usable condition. As it is quite old, there is discoloration at the base of the metal parts. The box also shows signs of age.
