Description
Cast iron that has been bronzed or plated to create a bronze-like appearance. Bookends are by BronzMet; D-22; fully marked on the back. BronzMet was a logo patented by The Gift House, Inc. in 1922. The Gift House produced a large variety of sand-cast iron bookends; copyrights date from 1924-1926. The company was out of business by the 1930s- a casualty of the Great Depression. Measure 4.5 inches across, 4.25 inches tall and 2 inches deep.
