Raku Ware Chawan Set by Shoraku – Aka Raku & Kuro Raku Pair, Traditional Japanese Tea Bowls
[By Shoraku Sasaki]
A Raku ware artist from Kyoto, specializing in Aka Raku (red Raku) and Kuro Raku (black Raku) matcha bowls used in tea ceremonies. Active from the Meiji to early Showa periods, his practical and tasteful style is beloved by tea masters.
This is a set of two matcha bowls, Aka Raku and Kuro Raku, by the popular tea utensil artist Shoraku Sasaki.
The soft warmth of the Aka Raku contrasts beautifully with the refined elegance of the Kuro Raku, creating a striking pair. Having both Aka Raku and Kuro Raku together will greatly enhance the atmosphere of your tea ceremony. The pleasant texture and smooth mouthfeel of Raku ware make them perfect for everyday use as well as for entertaining guests.
